“Mallards are the most abundant and wide-ranging of all ducks. Spring brings many new arrivals to our local pond and it is always a treat to watch the mallard ducklings. The newly hatched birds learn to swim by following their proud mothers as they tour around their new home, gaining their Water Wings.  The floating water lilies reminded me of the water wings my daughters used when they learned to swim.”
