ARTIST STATEMENT
“Painting wildlife has made me look more closely at our natural world and given me a strong desire to preserve our environment and the wonderful animals that share the environment with us.
Whenever possible I paint from my encounters with animals, either in the wild or in wildlife sanctuaries. Having this firsthand experience really helps me translate that interaction into a painting.
When I select each new canvas I decide what story is it that I want to tell in my painting, it maybe a warm family moment or a look of sadness that I want to capture - it will be a moment that has inspired me and made me feel that I just have to paint it.
My objective is to recreate an encounter with our natural world - one that brings that world into your home with you.”
