“American White Pelicans are truly “nomads” travelling many miles from their wintering grounds at the Pacific coast of Mexico and South West of California, to nest in British Columbia. For nesting, the American white pelican requires isolated lakes with a food source nearby.  These Pelicans are listed as Endangered under the British Columbia Wildlife Act as their nesting sites are particularly vulnerable to disturbance.”
