"The waning days of summer and a bounty of ripe fruit in cherry trees have lured these hungry bears searching for high-calorie foods ahead of winter.
Fruit trees provide a high food reward for bears preparing to hibernate and they tend to come back repeatedly, leading to problems.  People who leave the fruit on the trees stand a good chance of the bears damaging the trees while they climb them in search of a meal.
It was quite a time ago that I watched these bears, and was amazed how quickly they were able to climb up the tree to get their forbidden reward. "
